Renovating and remodeling a panel apartment is not always easy, because most apartments of this type are not very large, with cramped spaces and passageways, so you have to be careful about how you plan and remodel. When designing the apartment, it was important to create a minimalist style that was cozy and bright. So the walls and furniture were painted white, and to provide a little contrast to the large white surfaces, we chose gray and its shades. The entrance and interior doors were also replaced. The old built-in wardrobe in the hallway was removed and replaced with a more modern wardrobe with glossy doors. The old, worn floor tiles were replaced with new, glossy white tiles. All the small rooms, including the bathroom and toilet, were renovated, and we used sand-colored tiles and white sanitary ware.
The video briefly shows the “before and after” situation.
The small kitchen was transformed into a larger kitchen with modern lines and fresh, bright colors. The kitchen furniture was made in white, in a minimalist design style, with glossy white fronts. We chose gray again as a contrast, which appeared on the kitchen worktop and its backsplash. The dining area is located in the corner, with a new table and chairs and a modern pendant lamp. At the client’s request, a section of wall was removed, along with the interior door to the kitchen, so that the light streaming in through the large window could brighten up the narrow hallway. At the same time as the wall was removed, the built-in cupboard was also removed and replaced with a more modern, wood-effect cupboard, one of the important functions of which was to store the washing machine and dryer, and the other was to cover the large pipe with a cupboard in which household supplies are kept.
“Though it may not be a brand you are familiar with, for years, Nature Squared has been quietly creating unimaginably opulent hand-inlaid surfaces on land and sea.” Matt Mullenweg, 2017
In small spaces, it is worth building upwards, as we did in the kitchen shown here. The upper elements rise to the ceiling, providing ample storage space in the upper sections. Storage cabinets were designed for the lower sections to accommodate built-in appliances, drawers, and larger kitchen utensils. As the color of the worktop is echoed on the back panel, the color scheme remains consistent.

The interior door to the kitchen and the built-in cupboard were removed, creating more space and allowing more light into the small hallway. The washing machine and dryer were installed in the hallway, so the bathroom is not cluttered and can be used efficiently considering its size. Hiding the drainpipe was also an issue, as was how to cover it up. The end result was a modern 2-door cabinet for storing household items, which served its purpose.

Upon entering the apartment, we see a sliding door wardrobe behind the small hallway wall, which replaces the old built-in wardrobe with its modern, simple design. The apartment really has space and opportunities for storing seasonal clothes. Internal structural content: internal drawers, shelves, clothes hangers.

The rest of the apartment (living room, children’s room) was renovated to a lesser extent, mainly involving parquet flooring and wall painting. The existing furniture, which was in good condition, was put back in its place, now in the new location.
