Redesign of the lower level of a family home in Buda.
As an interior designer, I often collaborate with other interior designers. For this project, we worked with interior designer Zita Polyák.
The walls of the interior were painted gray, as were the new radiators and furniture. In addition, new, modern lamps were installed and the wooden floor was refinished. The furniture was designed and crafted in a minimalist style.
Upon entering the front door, there is a gray floating wall cabinet, and on the other side of the wall, there is a large shoe cabinet with hooks, which is beige in color.
The hanging shoe cabinet was given a beige color for a reason. The hallway and living room are connected by a large beige “cube.” The large cube is actually a piece of furniture built around an existing wall, which contains hallway furniture on one side and a kitchen storage cabinet on the other. The pantry cabinet and refrigerator were also built into it.
The kitchen is again gray, like the wall cabinet in the hallway. Only the built-in “cube” is painted beige. The kitchen is equipped with push-to-open drawers and door fronts, as are the island fronts. However, there is some furniture in the kitchen: the built-in refrigerator and the pantry cabinet, whose door fronts can only be opened with handles. Their colors are identical, almost blending into each other, so it is less noticeable that there is a handle there. A 12 mm thick compact board was chosen for the worktop and back panel, which follows the created design.
The kitchen island and the furniture on the wall opposite it are painted in a darker shade of gray, with CNC-milled patterns on the fronts breaking up the homogeneous gray surface.
This is where you can see how well gray and brown go together. Gray is elegant and simple, radiating harmony and tranquility. Brown is the color of earth and nature, giving a sense of calm and security. It is a good base color that can be combined with almost any color.
The furniture on the wall facing the island functions as a TV media wall.
The TV media wall is a modern wall-mounted cabinet. We kept the back panel 5 cm away from the wall to accommodate the TV cables. The lower part of the cabinet functions as storage space.
