Kecskemet, Hungary

Renovation project.

As an interior designer and furniture maker, I also work with other interior designers. For example, in collaboration with interior designer Zita Polyák, we renovated a family home in Kecskemét. During the renovation, we created a kitchen with a serving cabinet and an island, then furnished a study with a bookcase, a floating wall cabinet, and a radiator cover. Finally, we furnished a bedroom with an adjoining bathroom. The following series of images summarises what has been described.

The kitchen

The kitchen and living room are located in the same space, so we had to harmonize the two areas in terms of colors, design, and appearance. As everywhere else in the house, decorative strips are affixed to the walls, and we followed this line for all furniture fronts, including in the kitchen.
Not only furniture was made, but also a beautiful wall painting. It is a joint artistic creation by Zita Polyák and her daughter.
The door fronts and visible frame parts were repeatedly painted gray, except for the front side facing the living room of the island and the wall section with the sink, which have a brushed copper decorative surface.
A 12 mm thick compact board was selected as the worktop material. The furniture door fronts are equipped with push-to-open Tip-On mechanisms. The radiator cover under the window was fitted with a metal ventilation grille.

The workroom

The interior door of the room, made by Csaba Horváth, has a black-painted metal frame and glass panels.
Following the gray wall color of the interior, gray-painted furniture was made for the room: a bookcase, a wall-mounted floating chest of drawers, and a radiator cover with a metal ventilation grille.

The bedroom

We installed a hidden sliding door in front of the bedroom, with a gray exterior and a green interior, matching the bedroom.
The furniture was made with painted door fronts, matching the wall color.
Opposite it, there is a built-in wardrobe in the two large wall columns.
On the left side, the radiator cover serves as a functional bookshelf, radiator cover, and nightstand.
The small passageway leads to the bathroom, where the washbasin cabinet is located. The cabinet is painted green and equipped with push-to-open doors and drawers.
